I've decided it's probably a good idea to start a web log about all of the features I'm building into this site. In the last few weeks I build the server, the operating system, and all of the services. It's a fairly weak server by today's standards but it's more then ample right now. In the future if this site grows the server will definitely need to be upgraded and it might need to be moved to a much faster line. The current server is a Pentium 4 original 1.5GHz processor with 384MB of old SDram-133. Thankfully the server is currently only using about 250MB of ram. It's also got dual 200GB hard drives because backups are critical.

Just prior to authoring this update I've gone ahead and added a few generic fields to the user profiles including a link to a personal website, professional affiliations, professional activities, experience, education, interests, and publications. I'm sure that in the future these fields will need to be modified and more fields will have to be added. When I make changes or additions to the site I'll try to make sure I mention them in my web log.
